We work in partnership with academic institutions and are creating an interdisciplinary team with experts in the field

of AI, Cellular Biology and Tissue Engineering in order to achieve our goals.

The Technical Steering Group includes luminaries with specific expertise:

  • John Jeans, CBE - Advisor to public and third sector organisations, he was appointed by the Prime Minister in 2014 as the Life Science Champion for medical technology. He has served on several UK Government bodies, including the Science Advisory Council for Wales, and was a Trustee of the Francis Crick Institute. He advises the Singapore Government on Life Science matters and chairs a Strategic Advisory Panel for their Diagnostics Hub. He was awarded the CBE for services to Life Sciences, Healthcare and Science in 2012.

  • Professor Geraint Thomas – Professor of Biochemistry at University College London, Division of Biosciences. He specialises in cell & developmental biology, and in understanding and enabling control in biological systems - analysis, interpretation and manipulation. His research focuses on taking a broad, multifactorial approach to understanding cellular functions and their control across a range of scales from molecules upwards; and aims to apply a variety approaches and increased understanding of molecular and cellular behaviours to the engineering of living cells for the production of useful metabolites.

  • Professor Kenneth Dalgarno, Professor of Manufacturing Engineering at Newcastle University. He is Sir James Woodeson Professor of Manufacturing Engineering at Newcastle University, plus Deputy Director of the Arthritis Research UK Tissue Engineering Centre, and The Newcastle University lead investigator for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Additive Manufacture and 3D Printing. For the past decade he has been researching in the area of additive manufacture, with applications in rapid prototyping and manufacturing; polymer engineering; and with an increasing emphasis on applications in biomedical engineering, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine, with work supported by the EPSRC, the European Commission, Arthritis Research UK, the Carbon Trust, and industry.

  • Professor Geoff McFarland – specialist in the application of 3D technology in the field of additive manufacturing and medicine.
