Worldwide more than 8,000 heart transplants are performed every year

Patients who are lucky enough to receive a new heart have an average post-transplant lifetime of only 10 years due to rejection factors and the severe side effects of immunosuppressant drugs.

At Santorini Scientific, our mission is to improve quality of life for heart transplant patients

This can be achieved by reducing rejection whilst minimising the need for immunosuppressant drugs. We do this by advancing and implementing research in the field of 3D bioprinting, T-cell therapy and early detection and modelling of rejection.

Our goal of reducing rejection post heart transplant encompasses research in the field of AI, cellular biology, genetic engineering and precision medicine.
